Your generosity does God's work!
At St Stephen's, we run on a shoestring budget to gather for our worship, to welcome the stranger and the friend, and to serve the wider community. In recent years, the news has been filled with non-profits whose funds were mis-managed, and with churches whose pastors have private jets and manions. That's NOT St Stephen's! Yes, most of our budget goes on staffing, which is typical of a church our size. Our priest doesn't live in a mansion, but rents a 2br/2ba in SLO. We don't have any parish vehicles, especially not a jet! Our part-time and casual staff are paid a fair wage, and we wish we could pay them more. A lot of the work we do is accomplished by devoted and hard-working volunteers. So, if you can spare a buck or two, we are very grateful. If you can't, we understand that, too.
